MYPs Report Back At Public Meeting

Members of the Bradford and Keighley Youth Parliament held a special public meeting on the 1st of November to report back on the work they have been doing since the last public meeting, held in June.

Held in the City Hall chambers, the meeting gave young people the see what progress has been made on the issues that were selected at the constituency conferences.

MYPs from each of the constituencies reported back on the progress on the issues they had been working on. MYP Tayyab Razak chaired the meeting assisted by MYP Lois Cochrane and and Senior MYP Mohammed Ayaz.

Young people from across the Bradford district attended the meeting along with Councillors and other influential people.

The meeting also saw a debate on recent events in Burma, with MYP Seetal Mistry speaking in support of the Burmese monks and MYP Lois Cochrane introducing the arguement against.

The debate saw a variety of view points expressed from both MYPs and the other young people present.

The minutes of the meeting are available here where you can read the details of what the MYPs said when reporting back as well as what was said in the debate.
