Haworth Road Park Improvements Complete

Work has been completed on £3000 worth of improvements to Haworth Road Park secured by members of the Bradford and Keighley Youth Parliament Bradford West Constituency.

The MYPs had been asked to work towards improving the park as one of their three main priorities.

Improvements included:
- Replacing Parts of the fence
- Re-painting all the play equipment, seats and fences
- Replacing the entrance gate
- Installing new litter bins
- Fixing broken play equipment
- Preventing flooding of the car park by adding 11 tonnes of gravel to the area.

As you can see from the before and after pictures above the work has made a big difference to the appearance of the park.

The work was carried out by Bradford Council’s Parks and Landscapes unit. The MYPs met with Parks and Landscapes area manager David Cansfield to arrange the work.

MYP Jonathan Crouch said “We are really pleased with these improvements, the park looks much better and it will hopefully provide a space for young people to enjoy themselves.”

The MYPs are hoping to have a formal launch of the improvements at the Haworth Road Community Fun Day on the 5th July.
