MYPs Choose Site For MACA In Queensbury

MYPs from BKYP Bradford South have just completed a consultation with local residents in Queensbury about the location of a Multi Use Activity Area (MACA) in Russell Hall Park.
On Saturday the 19th of July BKYP held a stall at the Queensbury Showcase event to consult local people on the location of the MACA. The MYPs have been working with the Council's Parks and Landscapes department and Safer Communities Officer Susan Muskett.
A MACA is a fenced off area with football and basketball nets which can also be used for a number of other sports and games. The picture above shows a similar MACA in Greengates.
The majority of the money for the MACA will come from Queensbury Urban Village with the rest coming from funding bids made by the MYPs. The work on the MACA will begin once the remaining funding has been secured.
MYPs from Bradford South were asked to work towards the MACA at the BKYP Bradford South conference which was held in April 2007 following the last BKYP elections.
Young people wanted somewhere is Russell Hall Park where they could safely hang out and play games.
Keep an eye on BKYP.com for more updates on the progress of the MACA.
